Meat Loaf
In 1977, Meat Loaf made
history with the release of his first record Bat Out
of Hell, which to this day has sold over 34 million
copies worldwide. Sixteen years later, the critically
acclaimed follow up album, Bat Out of Hell II: Back
into Hell, skyrocketed to number one on the music
charts in 20 different countries. And most recently last
fall, Meat Loaf released his third album entitled Bat
out of Hell III: The Monster is Loose. The new album
preserves the theatricality of the first two Bat albums
while also introducing a fresh experience that is
revitalizing to the Meat Loaf legacy.
“Overall, I wanted this to
be edgier and rockier than the other two Bats,” Meat
Loaf says of the majestic disc. “Bats are typically
piano-based, and we will have plenty of piano, but I
have a lot of guitar-based stuff as well. I’ve always
been mentally more hard rock than I’ve shown on records
before, and I think the concerts tend to be where that’s
come across. So I’ve pushed that this time. I was like,
‘Hey, let’s rock this sucker.’ So, we did and it scared
the hell out of me.”
To promote his newest
album, Meat Loaf kicked off a worldwide tour this past
fall, beginning in San Diego, California. The concert
tour continued in Washington DC, Orland, and numerous
cities in Canada. Following his brief stay in North
America, Meat Loaf traveled to Europe to perform shows
in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Ireland. Each of
these performances has been met with positive reviews
and are described as “ a once in a lifetime experience”.
This July, Meat Loaf will
be returning to New York to perform in Madison Square
Garden.
